Description:

Cooking is fun!  Not a chore or a drudge.  Great cooking comes from great foundations.  The Salt Lake Culinary Center has created the CULINARY MASTER CLASS  series to offer comprehensive, hands-on classes focused on classic techniques relevant to every home cook.  Technique is emphasized, the importance of quality ingredients stressed (and tasted!) and invaluable tips and tricks are freely given by our qualified chef instructors.  Each series consists of three classes.  You may take them in any order, but we stress taking Culinary Master Class One first which focuses on basic knife and kitchen skills.

WEEK ONE:  BASIC KNIFE SKILLS, KITCHEN ORIENTATION, EQUIPMENT, SAFETY, SANITATION

  • Basic Stir Fry
  • Jasmine Rice
  • Candied Apple Slices

WEEK TWO:  STOCKS, SOUPS, AND CHOWDERS

  • Basic Chicken Stock
  • Pasta e Fagioli
  • New England Clam Chowder

WEEK THREE:  ROASTING

  • Classic Roasted Chicken
  • Herbed Pan Gravy
  • Roasted Cauliflower Puree
  • Potato Gratin
