Culinary Concepts Three (Weekdays)

Cooking is fun!  Not a chore or a drudge.  Great cooking comes from great foundations.  The Salt Lake Culinary Center has created the CULINARY CONCEPTS series to offer comprehensive, hands-on classes focused on classic techniques relevant to every home cook.  Technique is emphasized, the importance of quality ingredients stressed (and tasted!) and invaluable tips and tricks are freely given by our qualified chef instructors.  Each series consists of three classes.  You may take them in any order, but we stress taking Culinary Concepts One first which focuses on basic knife and kitchen skills.

DAY ONE:  SALADS AND THEIR DRESSINGS

  • Salad Greens Basics
  • Coleslaw
  • Main Dish Salads
  • Classic Caesar Salad
  • Homemade Croutons
  • Basic Vinaigrette

DAY TWO:  FRYING

  • Onion Rings
  • Chicken Parmesan
  • Beignets

DAY THREE:  BREADS, CREPES, AND TARTS

  • Basic Sandwich Bread
  • Quiche
  • Creative crepes ( Ricotta Blintzes with Dried Fruit Compote & Sauteed Pears, Gouda and Fresh Thyme)
