Culinary Concepts Two (Weekends)

Cooking is fun!  Not a chore or a drudge.  Great cooking comes from great foundations.  The Salt Lake Culinary Center has created the CULINARY CONCEPTS series to offer comprehensive, hands-on classes focused on classic techniques relevant to every home cook.  Technique is emphasized, the importance of quality ingredients stressed (and tasted!) and invaluable tips and tricks are freely given by our qualified chef instructors.  Each series consists of three classes.  You may take them in any order, but we stress taking Culinary Concepts One first which focuses on basic knife and kitchen skills.

 WEEK ONE:  EGGS

  • Omelets
  • Poached eggs over Asparagus
  • Cheese Souffle
  • Deviled Eggs

WEEK TWO:  VEGETABLES

  • Blanching Vegetables
  • Steaming Vegetables
  • Mournay Sauce
  • Ratatouille

WEEK THREE:  SAUTEING

  • Steak au Poivre
  • Chicken Piccata
  • Cubed Potatoes with Garlic and Sage
