Mad About Marinara! Eat Local Week
In celebration of Salt Lake City’s Eat Local Week Challenge the Salt Lake Culinary Center is offering a special Mad About Marinara class benefiting the Downtown Farmer’s Market. Class attendees can expect a hands-on culinary experience creating marinara from scratch using only local, fresh ingredients. In addition, the class will focus on topics such as processing fresh tomatoes, canning, properly and safely freezing finished sauces, roasting tomatoes, and utilizing marinara in multiple recipes.
Each student will leave class with a container of their prepared marinara sauce to take home and enjoy or freeze for a bit of summer freshness on a cold wintery night.

- Spaghetti with Turkey-Pesto Meatballs and Marinara
