Amy Christensen

Food, in some shape and form, has been a guiding force in Amy’s life. She began the exploration of food at an early age with her mother and grandmothers. They instilled a love for the kitchen; the smells, the chemistry, the companionship, and the feeding and entertaining of people. She spent 12 years as a wedding planner and caterer, where she prepared and served countless gourmet meals – but French pastries, cakes, chocolates and treats were the passion that drove her. From there she entered the natural food industry and spent the next 15 years as a marketing director for nationwide companies. It was there that educating people about food – how it nourishes our body – as well as how to prepare it, enjoy it, share it… grew into teaching classes and seminars for children and adults. She moved to Connecticut to open a food co-op and the blending and interconnectivity of community, food and people became clear and her mission. She now shares her love of all things food exclusively at the Salt Lake Culinary Center.
