Turkey Wine Suggestion One
Every year on the third Thursday of November French vintners release their annual botting of Beaujolais Nouveau. Under French law, just 3 weeks after the fruit was harvested, the wine is release at exactly 12:01 a.m. with great celebration.
If you’ve not had Beaujolais Nouveau before it’s unlike any other red wine. Beaujolais Nouveau is a cherry red, very light bodied, slightly spicy flavored wine. Because the wine is not aged it has a sharp acid edge. The good news is it pairs well with Turkey!
Additionally, it’s not expensive. Beaujolais Nouveau is usually priced between $9.00 – 13.00 per bottle.
When looking for a producer, I usually choose Georges Duboef’s Beaujolais Nouveau. He’s very well known and his Beaujolais Nouveau is viewed by consumers as the quality standard.
Check back later in the week and into next week for more suggested Thanksgiving wine pairings.
