Welcome Guest Chef Purnima
Salt Lake Culinary Center is pleased to welcome guest chef Purnima!
Purnima was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She has been living in the United States for almost 40 years and has been teaching Indian cooking classes for 15 years. In the past she has taught at Thanksgiving Point and Kimball Distributing. Currently she conducts classes at Red Butte Garden, through the University of Utah’s lifelong learning program, at her home, and for private parties.
She has always enjoyed entertaining family and friends around her kitchen counter, and experimenting with different recipes from across India and the world. Preparing delicious and quick meals with fresh ingredients is at the core of her cooking techniques. She believes in preparing delicious Indian meals with simple steps and pleasing, authentic results. Recently she authored a cookbook, “Gharki Rasoi.” With over 100 recipes, it emphasizes the simplicity and unique flavor of dishes from all over India.

- November 20 – Indian Dinner: Dahi Wada and Saag Chicken
- December 11 – Indian Dinner: Sabudana Wada and Goan Shrimp Curry
